Even though the Cuisinart BFP-603 SmartPower Deluxe only has a rather small food processor bowl, I have still decided to buy this model as it seemed the best currently available at this price level. I have so far only used the blender for making smoothies and blending soups, and I’m very satisfied. It’s very powerful and I only need to blend for 10-20 seconds to achieve the desired result. The blender jar is thick glass, so ideal for blending soups (after leaving them to cool for a few minutes). The machine is very easy to use, and easy to assemble. It also looks great in the kitchen. This is her first “real” processor and she is in slicing dicing heaven! She has made everything from Coleslaw to Hummus in it. So far it works like the nuts. The lid is a bit difficult to get on and off (a little cooking oil on the rubber ring will solve that problem) and we find we often try to overload the feed tube so that the safty lockout won’t engage. It is big and takes up counter space but it get used plenty enough to justify it. There are a ton of cool recipes (yumm food processor cheesecake- TO DIE FOR!!) and even mundane tasks (like slicing tomatoes for a sandwich) are quick and easy. Clean up is a breeze (usually just a quick wipe with a soapy sponge and a rinse) and the blade storage case is practical. All in all we are very impressed. It is well designed and well made. You definitely get what you pay for. The base unit is big (10″ x 8″ x 6″ high) and heavy. But it is amazingly quiet. It has large rubber feet which prevent the unit from moving or vibrating on the counter. The motor has enough torque to mix or rip through anything dropped in it. The work bowl is wider than the previous 9 cup model (7″) which makes it very easy to work inside and remove the contents. Another nice touch is the bowl cover which fits over both the inside and outside rim of the work bowl to prevent spillage. The large food pusher is also a measuring cup. Many of the 12 cup accessories fit this processor, too. The mini bowl accessory is useful because it easily drops into the large work bowl and then quickly chops small amounts of ingredients. The processor comes with the mini bowl & blade, dough blade, 2 mm slicing disk, 4 mm shredding disk and spatula.
